VISA 2023 Canadian Electronic Travel Authorization (Application Process)

VISA 2023 Canadian Electronic Travel Authorization (Application Process)

Canadian Electronic Travel Authorization VISA 2023 - An Electronic Travel Authorization is an entry permission necessary for people of visa-exempt nations who wish to travel to Canada by air. An ETA is a digital permission that is linked to a person's passport.

ETAs for Canada are typically valid for up to five years, or until the expiration of your passport (whatever happens first). With a valid ETA, you can visit Canada as many times as you wish and remain for up to six months. You only need to show the passport you used to apply for the ETA when you arrive in Canada.

Do you meet the requirements for a Canadian ETA?

You can apply for a Canadian ETA if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are a visa-exempt foreign national planning to fly to Canada. This means you are a citizen of a country whose citizens do not require a visa to enter Canada through a Canadian airport. The countries in question are listed below.
  • You have had a valid Canadian Visitor Visa for the last ten years and want to fly to or through Canada.
  • You are currently in the United States on a non-immigrant visa.
  • You are in possession of a valid Bulgarian, Brazilian, or Romanian passport. It should be noted that certain nations are not visa-exempt, and some of their inhabitants will not be awarded an ETA. All ETA applications from these countries will be handled on an individual basis.

It is critical to recognize that ETAs are only valid for air travel. Depending on your place of origin, you may require a visiting visa or merely a valid passport to enter Canada by land or sea. For example, US nationals do not require a guest visa or an ETA to enter Canada. They only need to display a valid US passport when they arrive in Canada, however, Pakistani citizens will require a guest visa to enter the country.

Canadian ETA Application Fee: CAD$7

After completing the application form, you must pay the CAD $7 application cost with a valid credit card.

Duration of Stay in Canada:

When you arrive in Canada using your ETA, a border services official will stamp your passport with the date you must leave Canada. If you have a valid ETA, you are normally allowed to stay in Canada for up to six months. If you want to stay longer, you must return to your native country, stay there for a while, and then return to Canada. Because an ETA is normally good for five years or until your passport expires, you do not need to apply for one every time you fly into Canada.

While applying, keep your passport and credit card handy. Because the application does not save automatically, you must have all of the information ready. The application process for a Canadian ETA is straightforward. You only need to follow the procedures below.

  • Fill out the application form by clicking here.
  • Answer all of the questions on the eligibility questionnaire.
  • Pay the application fee with a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, or American Express) and keep the receipt.

If your ETA is accepted, you will receive a response from the ETA authority within minutes. Applicants who need to submit extra papers will receive an email within 72 hours of submitting their application. Provide an email address that you use frequently.

Documents Required for Canada ETA Application:

In most circumstances, you will only need your passport and a credit card to fill out the Canadian ETA application form and pay the charge. Applicants are usually approved within a few minutes of applying. In some situations, applicants will be required to submit additional papers. In such circumstances, applicants should hear from ETA officials within 72 hours of applying.

To avoid unnecessary hassles:

once you have received your ETA approval, compare the passport number provided in your approval email to the number on your passport. If both do not match, you must reapply for the ETA.

Check that you have the same passport that you used to apply for the ETA (for passengers with dual nationality/passports). Your passport is connected to your ETA, and airport officials will scan it to check that you have a valid ETA. If you don't have a valid ETA, you won't be able to board your trip to Canada.
